This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and it will unofficially kick off the summer season. For many, that means plenty of time spent outdoors and the start of grilling season. It also means that you're starting to plan your summer events - graduation parties, weddings, outdoor BBQs, block parties, and family reunions.
As your plans for the summer shift into high gear, we wanted to give you a few tips to help ensure that your backyard party is one to remember.
First things first. If you're going to be spending a lot of time outside, you'll want to have an amazing lawn.
Patch any damage - if you've had any lawn-damaging pests or other turf damage, you'll want to reseed your lawn. Be sure to allow enough time for the grass to grow back, as it takes 2-4 weeks to be like new.
Fertilize it - To get lush, green grass that your guests will compliment, make sure to properly fertilize your grass. If you're using our service, be sure to let us know which day you're planning to have you're outdoor event and we'll schedule our service a few days in advance.
Mow your lawn - For the freshest look, you'll want to mow your grass the day of your event. If that's not possible, then mow it the morning before your event. Also, aim to cut your grass 3"-4" long, depending on the heat level.
Whether you're planning for an event next week or in late summer, here are some things you can do to maximize the fun and reduce the last-minute stress:
Backyard Inspiration - If you don't have anything planned until later this summer, you might consider sprucing it up a bit. Maybe it's time for that backyard kitchen? Or some new landscaping? Check out our Pinterest board for some inspiration.
Party planning checklist - To help organize and delegate party duties, creating a master list can be helpful. Thankfully, there are a variety of pre-made lists (like this one) and apps available that take the effort out of this step.
What's a party without a bit (or a lot) of decoration? Impress your guests with some themed decor for your event. For some decor inspiration for your next party, check out our Pinterest board.
We hope this guide helps you get ready and inspired for your next outdoor party! Be sure to contact us before your event so we can time your lawn's care properly. And, if you need any help with your lawn care in preparation for your event, let us know.
